The Ego made its debut in 2004 and was a BIG hit. The Planet Eclipse Lv1.6 is the newest successor to the fabled Ego line and it is a worthy one.

That classic and legendary Poppet platform in back with a new iteration that offers an insane amount of customization! This platform is popular because of all the options the user has in setting up their gun to their exact tastes. This level of choice is achieved through all the options given to you the player with the gun. You get a light and heavy rammer to choose from giving you different options on style with the actual hardware of the gun. Then the adjustability of the LPR to smooth out or make your shot snappier is a great tool to precisely pick how your gun will shoot. The Solenoid Flow Restrictors allow you to choose how fast your bolt moves forward and back. Then an adjustable dwell setting that is easily changed in the board’s menu. All these options give you an unparalleled amount of settings to adjust making your LV1.6 a gun unlike any other.

 

PE LV 1.6 Features

The Lv1.6 has a milled to match its style POPS ASA which will deliver the same great performance that has come to be expected of Planet Eclipse products. Both grips are wrapped in comfortable rubber grips that come black from the factory. The screen is a color customizable screen that display is easily read in the bright sun or at night so that you know exactly what is always going on with your gun. The trigger is easily replaced and can be set to use either the microswitch or the opto-switch, whichever you prefer. The AT-Pipe is back which is great because no one wants to use macro line or steel braided hosing in 2020. The LV1.6 has fully adjustable high-pressure regulator as well as the low-pressure regulator giving you the widest range on how you want the gun to perform. The Rammer comes in two styles light or heavy giving you the choice between super-fast cycle rates or ultra-smooth shot. The bolt is top notch, light weight, and does not really need anything to make it shoot better especially with how well the soft face works on paint. The feed neck is ultra-low profile and slim keeping it out of your sight line giving you that free and clear vision we all want when aiming our gun. The Shaft FL barrel back is bored in 689 and comes with the Carbon Fiber front making it extremely light weight and wieldy. The newest and biggest difference between the Lv1.6 and previous models is the solenoid. Its new design offers you a softer shot right off the bat and then add that to all the tuning options you can definitely make the softest shot out there. On top of that the new solenoid is serviceable, which means that routine or heavy maintenance can be done to it to keep it going unlike previous solenoids. This is a big change for the platform making cost of operation go lower seeing as you are not replacing a solenoid in the event that is goes out on you. This is a huge step forward for the players in being able to keep the same gun running for a long time. The new solenoid, milling, colorways, and its legendary history make the LV1.6 one of the top contenders in any arena of paintball.

 

Upgrades for the LV1.6

The LV1.6 has some cool items you can get to go along with it and make it even more your style. Do not like that stock trigger? No problem the Infamous Type S Deuce trigger gives you a great feeling, comfortable trigger that comes in cool colors to make your gun like black and red, and these triggers have awesome little skulls laser engraved on them too giving it that like extra flair. Available only from Pro Edge Paintball is the 14” Shaft FL Barrel Front in Carbon Fiber in colors other than black, now you can get the FL tip that is still carbon fiber for that great lightweight feeling but also get it in your favorite color or choose one that matches the gun; a great piece to stand out from the crowd. In addition to getting a new Shaft FL barrel tip, you can always get the Shaft FL barrel backs in the sizes you do not currently own to complete your kit and they come in a variety of colors like blue, gold, and many others so get all the colors! LV1.6 vs Field One G6r

The other Poppet on the market is the G6r from Field One or Bob Long. These guns are lightweight and can shoot very well. The G6r has a bit of options that let you adjust the gun. The LV1.6 is an amazing gun with a crazy amount of ways you can personalize your gun and shot to how you like. The Lv1.6 comes with awesome milling and in awesome colorways like Fire Opal; who does not love gold right?

 

The Eternal Struggle LV vs Geo

The battle between Spool Valve and Poppet has been a heated one with die hard fans on both sides. The spool valve of the Geo IV with its smooth shot and reliability is a crowd pleaser for sure and has its fans for good reason. The LV1.6 and its poppet method of operation give the player a unique shot that cannot be had anywhere else that this platform. The superior customizability of the LV guns with their SFRs, LPR, and dwell settings give each person who chooses to adjust their LV marker a gun that will shoot exactly how they like which makes the marker unique to each person. Whether you choose the Geo or the LV is up to you but with the LV you will get a marker you can make all your own.
