What's new with the Etha 3? 

The NEW Etha 3 is available in an electronic and a mechanical version known as the Etha 3M. The 3M version includes an upgraded trigger valve, the FL-3 way and a flat aluminum trigger to give you a better feel and an increased rate of fire. Before you buy an EMEK, consider the 3M version to save you money and get the best mechanical gun right out of the box! 

Planet Eclipse is known for their innovation and creativity. The release of the new Etha 3 platform falls right in line with the historical improvement of the Planet Eclipse paintball gun line up. 

The Etha3 offers players a sleek, fresh approach to ergonomics with a host of notable performance upgrades. Its quick-release bolt assembly makes a huge difference to accessibility and maintenance which is typically found on much more expensive marker platforms. The aluminium low-rise feedneck reduces the overall profile of the marker. But it's the new aluminium blade trigger that makes a serious step forwards in terms of firepower. The lighter, more responsive and faster trigger cycling potential is jaw-dropping.

The Etha 3 from Planet Eclipse is their newest mid-level entry into the paintball marker market.
The newly designed Etha3 gun is lightweight, easy to use, and has a ton of aftermarket parts to customize the gun to make it really stand out as your gun. Just like the the Etha 2, the Etha 3 has a great shot, one not expected to have in the mid-range level, the shot is soft, crisp, and sounds great. Planet Eclipse knocked it out of the park with the Etha 3 giving you the performance needed to dominate on the tournament field and also feel right at home out in the woods.


What hopper does the Etha 3 use? 
Compared to the Etha 2 model, the Etha 3 and Etha 3M now use a low profile clamping feedneck design which is the same as in the CS2 Pro and the Gtek 170R. Planet has eliminated the use of the PAL Loader System on the new Etha 3. 
This design makes sense as the Etha 3 is a middle to upper level paintball gun where most players will be using higher end electronic loaders instead of the more entry level PAL level hopper design. Currently the Etha 3 is available in .68 caliber which means any electronic hopper designed for .68 caliber paintballs should work with this platform. Stay tuned for the release of a .50 caliber Etha 3, we aren't sure if this will exist but we will keep a close eye on it! 

What battery does the Etha 3 use? 
The Etha 3 marker uses the same battery system as the Etha 2. A simple 9 bolt battery powers the high performing platform of the Etha paintball gun.
This battery system is easily accessed because it requires no tools to get into the battery compartment. Other paintball markers require you to remove the grips or a panel to get to your battery, needing tools to do this can be frustrating at the field. Dropping the screws on the ground, not having the right tool to remove the screws in the first place, no one wants that hassle and Planet Eclipse agrees. The Lock N' Load Battery System uses a manual lock and a push button to drop the battery tray giving you access to the 9 volt battery that powers the gun. The whole system is incredibly hidden in the front grip of the gun, if you do not know what you are looking for you would never guess it was there. On top of the discreet design the compartment is just snug enough that your battery does not rattle around in there, no weird unexplained sounds coming from the battery banging around in its home is piece of mind.


What bolt is in the Eclipse Etha 3 vs Etha 2? 
Update: The Etha 3 bolt design is nearly identical to the Etha 2 however, the Etha 3 has a tool less bolt back cap that lifts and easily slides out the rear of the paintball gun. This is a nice design change from the Etha 2 that sometimes requires tools to remove the bolt to service it. 
The Gamma Core is Planet Eclipse's new flagship bolt system. It features unparalleled reliability, Planet Eclipse really focused this system to work no matter what and it shows, the Gamma Core is virtually bullet proof, it just keeps working and working. The new snappy shot from this system is actually fun to shoot and it sounds awesome as well. It is incredibly efficient as well, shooting more than 9 pods off of a 68/4500 psi tank. The Gamma Core is also great on paint, being able to shoot some of the most brittle paint in paintball with absolutely no problem. Planet Eclipse even has the ST3 Soft Face Bolt for the Etha 3 making your marker even softer on paint than it was before which is unbelievable. The engine running the Etha 3 is all about top level performance you can rely on no matter the kind of paintball you play making this a great choice for anyone regardless of experience level.


How do you turn the air on the Etha 3? 
The POPS system from Planet Eclipse featured on the Etha 3 is a huge quality of life upgrade on the gun. This on/off air system is easy to use to turn your air on or off to make attaching the tank or removing the tank from the gun a breeze. The most amazing part of the POPS on/off is that when you turn off the air the gun is able to purge the air in the gun, what this means is that your marker will not hold an extra shot of air in it after you remove the tank. This POPS on/off is nearly the same as the one that came with the Etha 2. No more accidentally shooting a paintball into your barrel sock when you removed the tank thinking there was no more air left in the gun. We have all done that and it is no shame, but Planet Eclipse has you covered, and that problem is a thing of the past.


Can you upgrade the Etha 3? 
The Etha 3 comes power packed full of features you would normally need to upgrade. There will be upgrades in the new future but at the time of the Etha 3 release, there isn't much you would need to do to this new gun. The Etha 3 comes with an upgraded Blade (flat faced) style trigger which gives it a nice, easy fill when shooting. The barrel would be the only upgrade we would recommend!
