Learn About the SP Shocker AMP:

The Shocker AMP is the latest release from SP Paintball. With a newly designed bolt system that offers the best efficiency the Shocker platform has ever seen, this new model of Shocker is going to be a leader in it's price range.

With less to move and reconfigure, the Shocker® AMP is easier than ever to switch between ripping fast electro to top-end mechanical operation. The distributed electronics driving the Shocker® AMP also make maintenance faster, by allowing for faster grip frame removal.

It€™s hard to believe, perfection could be improved upon but the engineering team behind the Shocker® found room to further upgrade its efficiency. The Shocker® AMP valve and bolt are the most efficient yet (approximately 20% increase) The bolt is extremely easy to take out of the Shocker AMP and clean! One twist and pull!

No tools means faster maintenance. Unlock and remove the Shocker® AMP solenoid valve for cleaning and swapping over to your Shocker AMP Mechanical Frame!

So far, so good. 4.5 stars. Can't wait to try her out on the field!

First I want to acknowledge that Pro Edge was extremely fast in shipping my in-stock items and kept me in the loop on my preorder, the SP AMP. All of my future PB purchases will come through TX for the foreseeable future. Great job!

    What I like:

The SP AMP arrived well packed and shrink-wrapped. The marker aired up perfectly fine with no leaks out of the box.
    Super light!
Easy to adjust programming. Even a caveman could do it.
The anodizing and milling was flawless on the marker.*
Although similar in length to my 170r, the AMP feels tighter and slightly less 'pointy' if that makes any sense. Maybe it's the tiny foregrip. Some players (myself included) actually prefer that 'pointy' feel, so it may be in my mind, but I feel like it's an adjustment I'll get used to pretty quick.

    What I didn't like:

The back cap and it's 1/8 or 1/4 turn to unlock and pull the drive system out has me a bit worried. It's pretty loose, and I could see myself making that short turn accidentally, during a match.

The trigger guard has sharp edges along the inside that I found irritating to my fingers. I wish SP would have rounded those edges down like PE does in their frame.

Finally, there were 2 tiny chips on the Freak tip that should not affect performance (on the end that screws into the Freak back).

Summary: Looks great. Feels pretty good with some quirks. I really want to get out and shoot it more.

PS: I didn't take any points away for this, but I really wish the markers were solid color all the way around, not black accented. This would have made part swapping really cool to do with the Freak back and eye covers. Maybe next time, SP, or are they already planning on selling accent kits? LOL, capitalism.
