Learn About the Eclipse Gtek 170R

The all new Gtek 170R is the latest release from Eclipse and looks like it will be a huge hit based on the first reactions by many! Compared to the older 160R, the new 170R offers an incredible number of features never seen before at the $800 price level.

GTEK 170R Features

The first main change seen when looking at the new Gtek 170R compared to the discontinued 160R is the front grip and body style. The front grip on the 170R is nearly identical to the CS2 platform. The battery removal is located inside of the front grip just like the CS2 marker which is a huge hit with the players who use the Eclipse line of paintball guns.

The body on the 170R is very sleek and clean looking with the eye covers being nicely designed to not take away from the very sleep and clean looking machining of the new design. With just a quick removal of the front grip, the eye and ball detent covers come right off and allow you to clean the eyes and replace the detents if needed.

Eclipse Gtek 170R Bolt

The Gtek 170R bolt system is very similar to the original and the 160R and easily s removed out the back of the gun. This is a great feature everyand operates at a very low 135psi allowing it to shoot brittle paintballs in cold conditions or even at the high end tournament level. It is important to note that this type of marker will only operate on Compressed Air or High Pressure air and will not work with CO2.

Eclipse Gtek 170R Trigger

The Gtek 170R now comes with the Blade Trigger right out of the box! The trigger is 4 way adjustable and looks like it will use the CS2 trigger upgrades. Upgrade your Gtek 170R trigger here with our selection of different colors, shapes and designed triggers. The Blade trigger is one of the most popular shapes. If you are near Pro Edge stop by any time to hold and feel how the 170R fits in your hands before you buy it!

Other Features for the Gtek 170R!

More changes to the 170R include the elimination of the AT pipe, or the air transfer tube from the trigger guard to the front regulator. With the new design the air now runs directly through the markers grip frame and up through the body. The front grip where the regulator was on the 160R and the standard Gtek is now where your batteries are. This is identical to the CS1 and CS2 platforms and looks like it is the preferred design by Eclipse moving forward.

The air on/off on the new Gtek has adopted the Pops on off which is the best design in our opinion. The older design was a knob that you had to try to grab and turn on and off. This was challenging to most as the knob was very small and if your hands were dirty or covered in paint the knob became slippery. The new on/off feature will require players to lower their pressures coming out of their regulators to make the push of the on/off a little easier but it isn't impossible to use it even at higher pressure, it will just be a difficult to some.
